Privacy Policy

All information concerning clients, prospective clients, volunteers, donors or prospective donors shall be kept strictly confidential by ElderHelp of San Diego, its staff and volunteers, unless permission is obtained from these individuals to release such information.

ElderHelp is committed to respecting the privacy of donors. This includes their names, addresses and telephone numbers, the name of their beneficiaries, the amount of their gift, etc. The types of donor information that ElderHelp collects and maintains are as follows:

  • Contact information: name, address, telephone number and email address
  • Giving information
  • Information on events attended, publications received and involvement with agency committees
  • Information provided by the donor in the form of comments and suggestions
  • Volunteer hours

ElderHelp uses donors’ information to understand their interests in its mission and to update them on the organization’s plans and activities. It is shared with staff, board members, volunteers and consultants only on a “need-to-know” basis.

ElderHelp also assures donors, clients and volunteers that their names and addresses will not be sold or shared with any third party unless permission has been granted.

Texting Policy

Opt-In Requirement for Texting

  1. Consent: Clients must provide explicit consent to receive text messages from ElderHelp. This ensures that clients are aware and agreeable to communications via text
  2. Opt-In Process: clients can opt in by:
    1. Completing a consent form provided by ElderHelp.
    2. Sending a text message with the keyword “OPT-IN” to the designated number.
  3. Confirmation: Upon successful opt-in, clients will receive a confirmation message indicating that they are enrolled to receive text communications. Opt-Out Option: Clients have the right to opt out of receiving text messages at any time. To opt out, clients can:
    1. Reply with the keyword “STOP” to any text message received.
    2. Notify ElderHelp via email or phone.
  4. Impact of Opting Out: Clients who opt out will no longer receive text communications.
