There are powerful ways you can support ElderHelp of San Diego and make a lasting difference for seniors—while also enjoying significant tax savings. Consider these smart giving options:

Make a Gift of Stock: If you’ve got appreciated stock, donating it allows you to give more than if you sold it yourself. You’ll avoid capital gains taxes and still get a deduction for the full value, which is a win-win for you and for the seniors we serve! Contact us for important details and to be put in touch with our broker.

Giving from Your IRA: If you’re 70½ or older, you can make a gift directly from your IRA. It can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) but won’t be considered taxable income. It’s an easy way to give and reduce your tax bill at the same time.

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs): If you have a DAF, you can recommend a gift to ElderHelp with just a few clicks. It’s a great way to support the seniors who rely on us, while keeping your giving simple and tax-efficient. Click here for more details.

ElderHelp accepts items from our pantry list and other in-kind donations at our Kearny Mesa location, but please contact us first. Call 619-284-9281 or email frontdesk@elderhelpofsandiego.org to learn if we can accept your item(s) and to arrange a drop off.

Host a food or incontinence supply drive! Contact us first to learn about what are our current needs in the pantry.

Vehicle Donations – Vehicle Donations are a great and easy way to donate to ElderHelp.  We work with www.careasy.org.   Call (866) 965-4483 or visit https://www.careasy.org/nonprofit/elderhelp-of-san-diego .  The program takes any kind of vehicle and the only paperwork needed is a signed, clear title. The vehicle doesn’t have to be running and donations can come from anywhere in the United States.
