ANGELS ALL YEAR LONG
An elf sits on the shelf all year long in Anya Delacruz’s office, and that’s because the holidays are her favorite time of year. But it’s also a reminder that the spirit of the season—one of kindness, generosity, and yes, celebration should be a constant presence.
“It’s also a reminder that seniors need us all year long,” notes Anya, ElderHelp’s Associate Executive Director. “Holiday Angels is one day, but it’s the generosity shared throughout the year that seniors truly rely on. It could be a phone call, a ride to the doctor, or a carton of milk. That can make all the difference to a senior in need.” She adds, “Although our kickoff Winter Wonderland will look different this year, it’s important for volunteers to share this special day with seniors and for seniors to know we care—at the holidays and always. We’ve made some changes to keep everyone safe, but not even a pandemic can dampen the spirit of ElderHelp’s Holiday Angels.”
